Group Movement Classes

At Lakeside Pilates the majority of our classes focus on gentle movement and attention is paid to the quality of movement and improving mis-alignments and imbalances within the body. Modalities currently offered include: Pilates, Restorative Movement, MELT Method and Yoga. We help individuals move and feel better, build strength and balance, or just to spend an hour of their week for themselves.

Participants will need to get on and off the floor independently.

While the majority of our classes are suitable for individuals with aches and pains as well as pre/post surgery. Always consult a physician before starting this program. Starting class before you’re ready may prolong your recovery period.

Restorative Movement

This class is perfect for a wide audience, including anyone who has minor aches and pains, muscular/posture misalignments, pelvic dysfunction, pre-post surgery, stress relief, sleeplessness, or pre/postnatal. MELT Method

The MELT Method™ is a self-care method used to calm the mind, improve performance, and help eliminate the stress that accumulates due to daily life before causing persistent pain and dysfunctions.

With MELT, you will experience immediate changes in how your body feels as you learn simple self-treatments you can do at home to remain active and healthy.

The method uses soft body rollers and MELT Hand and Foot Balls. During class, you’ll learn how to relieve aches and pains brought on by stuck stress caused by aging and active living. Learn to take home movements that may reduce inflammation, ease chronic neck and low back strain, improve alignment, and keep your whole body working better. Click here to learn more.

We encourage you to sign up for our e-newsletter for workshop announcements and updates. Or email info@lakesidepilates.com for more information.

  • No worries. Many of our clients are new to Pilates, Yoga or any type of fitness class. Our classes move slowly and we’re a welcoming community. You’ll find support and encouragement from instructors and class participants.

  • Restorative Movement, Pilates, MELT and Yoga classes are all wonderful ways to gain strength and stability post surgery. You will want to chat with your medical professional (physician, therapist, etc.) before joining classes. If they have cleared you to attend class, then yes. In some instances, Private Sessions are more suitable as you begin moving again. If you have specific questions we encourage you to call or email the studio.

  • None of our classes (Restorative Movement, Pilates, Yoga or MELT) will permanently fix a persistent ache, pain or injury. It may help alleviate pain or assist with muscular imbalances and building strength. If you have been experiencing pain for awhile we encourage you to see a medical professional before beginning any physical fitness program. In some cases, movement classes may make a situation worse - not better. A medical professional can help determine what is happening in your body and if movement classes are right for you. In no way should any of our classes be used in lieu of seeing a medical professional.

  • We are always interested in what class times best fit our clients. If you are interested in a class time not currently offered please call or send us a note with the class type, day of the week and time you are looking for. If there is enough interest, we may add that class type and time to the schedule.
